Colony, Kans.—A volunteer firefighter was injured on the way to a Monday morning fire in Anderson County.

According to the Kansas Highway Patrol a 1985 Chevy Silverado driven by Sarah Elizabeth McDaniel, 29, Colony was traveling northbound on SW Delaware Road, responding to a grass fire.

She lost control of the truck and left the roadway striking a tree. She was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

The KHP reports they did not know if she was wearing a seat belt.
