WaKeeney to replace two mowers for Parks Department

wakeeney logoWAKEENEY — A short meeting for WaKeeney City Council members was March 4.  Highlights included review of an existing city annexation agreement and the need to replace two riding mowers for the Parks Department.

RECORD OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE GOVERNING BODY 4 MARCH 2014

The Governing Body of the City of WaKeeney, Kansas met in a regular session at City Hall 408 Russell Ave at 7:00 PM with the Mayor presiding and the following members present:  Mayor Kenneth Roy and Council Members Mary Jo Clevenger, Irene Dirks, Troy Leiker, Lynelle Shubert, and Allen Weigel.

BEING ABSENT: None

The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as written, printed and distributed.

GUESTS: Addie Zeman, Kristen Hanks, Teghan Sells, Mariah Brungardt, Brittany Brock, Colton Parker, Ryan Deaver, Sonya Stanton, Cordell Ratliff, and Cory Garner.

CITY ADMINISTRATOR: Hardy Howard discussed with the Governing Body the possibility of replacing two riding mowers for the parks department. Quotes will be obtained prior to a decision being made by the City Council.

An existing city annexation agreement in Section 4-12-23 was reviewed by the City Council.

At this time an ordinance making appropriation for the payment of claims for the month of February 2014 was read, whereupon, Mary Jo Clevenger motioned to approve claims in the amount of $211,219.44 Irene Dirks seconded. Motion carried. Warrants #9837, #9842, #9850, #9854, #9883 and #9890 were reviewed prior to approval.

No further business appearing, the meeting was adjourned.
