Two men were hospitalized after an accident on Interstate 70 at 3:48 p.m. Monday southeast of Colby in Thomas County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2012 Ford F-150 driven by Leonard D. Wertz, 73, Quinter, was eastbound on I-70 when it rear-ended a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Clyde D. Amerine, 66, Conway Springs.
The pickup went into a skid and went across the median and both westbound lanes, coming to rest in the ditch. Amerine’s vehicle skidded and rolled an unknown number of times, coming to rest upright in the median.
Amerine was transported to Citizens Medical Center, Colby, for treatment, while the KHP said Wertz sustained “possible injuries” but did not say if he was hospitalized.
The KHP said both men were wearing seat belts.
