WICHITA (AP) — A 38-year-old Wichita man is charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder in the shooting of his wife and two sons.
Prosecutors allege Pettix McMillan shot his wife and 5-year-old and 13-year-old sons during a domestic dispute Monday night in west Wichita. All the shooting victims were hospitalized but are expected to survive.
The woman and 13-year-old boy ran to separate neighbors to report the shootings. McMillan was later found in a wooded area near the home.
McMillan is jailed on $1 million bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 10.
A public defender will be appointed for McMillan.
