TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Police say an 18-year-old Kansas woman has died after falling from the 10th floor of a Tempe residential building.

Tempe Police Sgt. Mike Pooley said Naomi McClendon was transported to a local hospital early Sunday where she later died of her injuries.

Authorities say both Tempe fire and police responded to the scene to investigate the fall and treat the victim for injuries.

Police say alcohol appears to be a factor.
