Fort Hays State junior sprinter Samantha Woodburn was named the MIAA Women’s Track Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Alex Francis Classic this past weekend in Hays, Kan. She joins Jackie Ziemke of Nebraska-Kearney for the weekly honors, who was named the MIAA Women’s Field Athlete of the Week. Woodburn posted provisional qualifying times in both the 100 and 200 meter dash.

Woodburn won both events at the meet. Her time of 11.90 seconds in the 100 meters currently ranks sixth in NCAA Division II, while her time of 24.05 seconds in the 200 meters ranks her fifth in Division II.

Woodburn was an indoor national qualifier for the Tigers in the 60-meter dash.
