SALINA — The I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force, with assistance from several law enforcement agencies, searched six locations in Salina on Monday, and seized marijuana, cocaine, methamphetamine, drug proceeds, drug paraphernalia, handguns and an assault rifle.
Drug Task Force Commander Capt. Jim Norton said six people were arrested and more arrests are anticipated.
Arrested on drug charges were Jerry Lee Robinson Jr., 34; Jacob Wayne Thompson, 25; Zacari Dwayne Smoove, 32; Justin Ray Thompson, 28; Justin Lee Smull, 20; and Patrick William McBride, 20.
During the searches, officers reportedly seized $16,448 in suspected drug proceeds; 680 grams (1.49 pounds) of marijuana; a marijuana grow operation with 19 live marijuana plants; a dismantled marijuana growing operation; 69.5 grams of cocaine; 3.9 grams of methamphetamine; 1.2grams of THC wax; and trace amounts of methamphetamine. The value of the drugs was estimated at $30,930. Also recovered were two handguns, an assault rifle and drug paraphernalia.
The arrests follow from a methamphetamine/marijuana distribution investigation involving the six men arrested.
It is believed the drugs were imported from California, and law enforcement has seized evidence indicating multiple shipments of drugs imported during the past three months.
Assisting the I-135/I-70 Drug Task Force were members of the Salina Police Department, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Bureau of Investigation and the Gove County Sheriff’s Office.
According to reports, Gove County assisted by bringing a canine unit on scene during the investigation.
