High winds cause Saturday I-70 semi-truck crash

Screen-Shot-2013-05-26-at-9.27.46-AM.pngCOLLYER –High winds were responsible for a Saturday afternoon truck accident on I-70 in Trego County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2013 Volvo semi-truck driven by John Dexter Sargent, 57, Saukville, Wisconsin was traveling westbound on I-70 one mile south of Collyer.

Due to a strong wind gust, the truck went off of the roadway into the north ditch and rolled over onto its right side.  Sargent was transported to Trego County Lemke Memorial Hospital.

The KHP reported Sargent was wearing a seat belt.
