It used to be the month of May when tourism activities in Hays began to pick up for the summer season.

But according to Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Jana Jordan, the busy season now begins in April:

Spring also brings an increase of local activities, said Jordan, especially outdoor events.
