MANHATTAN–A cement truck driver is recovering from serious injuries he suffered in a Monday accident in Manhattan.

The Riley County Police Department reported the accident occurred when a cement truck driven by Jerry Bellinder, 50, Manhattan was traveling westbound in the 6200 Block of Anderson Ave. and ran off the road. The truck hit a utility pole and metal sign.

Life Star transported Bellinder to a hospital in Topeka for treatment.

The accident remains under investigation
