Sternberg set for annual EGGstravaganza

Fort Hays State University’s Sternberg Museum of Natural History will have its EGGstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt will be held the morning of April 19.

Approximately 10,000 eggs will be scattered over the nature trails. The event is $3 for the public, free for museum members, with proceeds going to the museum’s education department. At 10 a.m., children 4 and younger will begin with the hunt for children 5 and older beginning at 10:30 a.m. The eggs are stuffed with candy or coupons for larger prizes.

The next Museum Movie Night, “The End of the Line,” will begin at 6:30 p.m. April 25. Face painting, origami and crafts will be available, and the concession stand will offer hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and popcorn. The film is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

“The End of the Line” demostrates the devastating effects of overfishing and what steps can be taken to help with this crisis. After the documentary, there will be a question-and-answer session.
