The TMP-Marian baseball team split their two games Tuesday at the TMP Field, beating Scott City 15-0 in a game called after four innings by run rule. Great Bend scored the go-ahead run in the sixth inning and beat the Monarchs 3-2 in the second contest.
The Monarchs jumped out early against the Beavers, scoring four in the first and eight in the second. Ricky Hockert struck out six in the win. Taylor Wasinger and Kameron Schmidt both drove in three.
In the second game, Great Bend scored two in the first. TMP answered with a run in the bottom of the inning then tied it in the fourth. Kameron Schmidt struck out eight over six innings and takes the loss.
Great Bend’s Tristan Hall struck out 10 over seven innings in the win.
The Monarchs are now 7-3. They travel to Goodland Friday.
