NORTON — Two people were injured in a highway construction zone accident Wednesday in Norton County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2002 Ford pickup driven by Todd Erwin Brooks, 85, Edmond, failed to stop for traffic at the intersection of K9 and W3 road. The truck ran into the back of a 2005 Ford pickup driven by Derick M. Summers, 30, Hill City. The collision sent Summers truck into a 2006 Ford pickup driven by Justin Ray Heikes, 22, Norton.

Brooks was transported to Norton County Hospital. The KHP reported Summers was possibly injured.

All three involved were wearing seat belts.
