For about five months a Kansas Department of Transportation survey team will be working along US 281 in Russell County. The work began yesterday near the north Russell city limit.

The survey will gather information for the design of a proposed improvement along the highway. The project is part of the T-WORKS transportation program approved by the legislature in 2010.
