The decision on redistricting will be made by the legislature, but First District Congressman Tim Huelskamp is watching to see how his district will expand.

Huelskamp says the addition of the Fort Riley area would make sense. He wants the area to maintain its rural, agriculture roots.

The First District needs to gain about 58,000 people. Huelskamp says the district already is large, and he wants the redistricting committee to be cognizant of the challenges in covering such a vast area.
