On Monday, a resurfacing project will begin on a 20-mile stretch of Interstate 70 from Oakley to Grainfield.
The roadway will be resurfaced with a thin lift of asphalt that is intended to improve the driving surface and extend the life of the roadway. Venture Corp. of Great Bend is the primary contractor on this project with a contract cost of $3.8 million.
The project is expected to be complete by the end of June.
The Kansas Department of Transportation urges all motorists to be alert, obey the warning signs, and “Give ‘Em a Brake!” when approaching and driving through the project work zone.
