SALINA — A 1-year-old boy was taken to Salina Regional Health Center on Monday evening, after apparently ingesting sleeping pills.

Salina Police Capt. Mike Sweeney said police and EMS were sent to a home in the 700 block of Comanche just after 8:30 p.m.

Sweeney said the investigation continues as to how the boy was able to get the sleeping pills and how many were taken.
