Playing in his last home game for Fort Hays State, senior Travis Patzner scored the equalizer that helped the Tigers to 2-1 win over visiting Northeastern State on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 30) at the FHSU Soccer Stadium in Hays.

The Tigers fell behind 1-0 early in the game at 7:16 when the Riverhawks’ Bobby Behrens scored from close range to the left side of the goal. The goal was the only score of the first 45 minutes.

FHSU did all the scoring in the second half. Patzner, the lone senior on the Tiger roster, knocked in a free kick from Diego Cabral at 59:02. The score was Patzner’s second goal of the season. The Hays native was honored at halftime in the Senior Day game.

Adam Ramirez scored the game-winning goal for the Tigers. A free kick from about 20-yards out beat the Riverhawk goalkeeper to the right side, giving FHSU the 2-0 victory. The goal was the fifth of the season for Ramirez.

The Tigers finish their season with two road games in Sioux Falls, S.D. next weekend. FHSU plays the University of Winnipeg on Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.
