Garnett–Six people were injured when their vehicle hit a tree just after 11 p.m. on Friday in Anderson County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1999 Dodge Durango driven by Trista L. Brown, 30, Emporia, was southbound on Missouri Terrace one mile south of Richmond.

The driver failed to slow at an uncontrolled T intersection. The vehicle went through the intersection and struck a tree head on.

Brown and five children under the age of 12 from Leroy Kansas were transported to Anderson County Hospital.

The KHP reported Brown was not wearing a seat belt. The children were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
