TOPEKA — The Governor’s Office on Thursday announced five appointments and reappointments to three health-related state boards and councils.
Three of the appointments were to the 13-member Kansas Board of Emergency Medical Services, which regulates all emergency medical services and providers in the state.
Members serve four-year terms.
Named by Gov. Sam Brownback were:
Deborah Kaufman of Hoxie, reappointed. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Friends University in Wichita and currently serves as the Sheridan County EMS director.
John Ralston of Liberal also was reappointed. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Kansas and currently serves as the Seward County EMS director of operations. He also teaches EMS classes at Seward County Community College.
Wendy Gronau of Lincoln was appointed. She attended Butler County Community College and is the Lincoln County EMS director.
Brownback also reappointed one person to the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts, which regulates 11 health care professions. Dr. Kimberly Templeton of Leawood was named to a four-year term. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Washington University in St. Louis, Mo., and her medical degree from the University of Missouri. Templeton teaches for the University of Kansas Medical Center.
David Fredericks of Olathe was appointed to a three-year term on the Kansas State Rehabilitation Council, which works with Kansans with disabilities. He received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University in Utah and his doctorate of physical therapy from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is a physical therapist and instructor for Clark Neuro Rehab Consultants.
