RUSSELL — Russell city officials are hoping you won’t be bitten in their town.
Mosquito fogging began last week following recent rains.
City crews will be fogging again Thursday night and twice next week in anticipation of all the outdoor activities for the Fourth of July holiday.
Workers are busy today larviciding the creeks, an ecologically-safe preventive method used to interrupt the development of larvae or pupae into adult mosquitoes. according to the city of Russell website.
Russell residents are asked to do their part to remove any unnecessary standing water and keep grass and vegetation as low as possible to eliminate potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
Informational pamphlets about mosquito control are available at the City Building, 133 W. Eighth.
Questions may be directed to City Parks Superintendent Rich Krause at (785)-483-6311.
