Why would the last weekend in June be any different?

A fast-moving overnight thunderstorm again deposited rain and house-rattling thunder in northwest Kansas, with reports from Ellis County ranging from 0.02 inches to nearly 0.2 inches.

We recieved .23 of an inch of rain at the Eagle Media Center.

The Agricultural Research Center in Hays reported .26 of an inch.

That brings the month total for June to 9.45 inches and the year total to 12.43 inches.

The bulk of the rainfall fell to the west, where there were reports of nearly 2 inches of rain in Trego County. Reports from Rush County included rainfall ranging from a half-inch to more than 1.5 inches.

And while it is expected to be hot and muggy much of Sunday, forecasters are calling for possible storms that could come into the area after later today and overnight.
