COPELAND, Kan- Two drivers were injured in a crash just after 12 noon on Sunday in Haskell County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Chevy Silverado driven by Carlos Fabian Loya-Maldonado, 19, Montezuma, was southbound on WW Road five miles northwest of Copeland.

The Chevy was traveling at a high rate of speed and rear-ended a slow moving 1997 Dodge Ram driven by Tyler D. Curtis, 50, Copeland.

Loya-Maldonado was transported to St. Catherine’s Hospital in Garden City. Curtis was transported to Western Plains Medical Center in Dodge City.

The KHP reported the drivers were not wearing seat belts.
