Hurricanes with strong showing in Lakin

Hays Hurricanes swimmer Megan Flavin placed first in 4 events and broke the pool record in the 50 free at the Western Kansas Swim Club swim meet in Lakin, Kansas on Saturday, June 28th.  Flavin’s time of 28.66 broke the previous record of 28.96 held by former Hurricanes swimmer Amanda Groff.

Hurricanes swimmers who placed in the top three in individual events are as follows:

Kallyn DeWitt (age 12):  200 IM (2nd)

Megan Flavin (age 12):  50 Free (1st), 50 Fly (2nd), 50 Back (1st), 50 Breast (1st) & 100 Free (1st)

Ana Goodlet (age 14):  100 Back (2nd), 100 Breast (2nd), 100 Free (1st)

Ben Rajewski (age 17):  200 IM (2nd), 500 Free (3rd)

Emilee Pfannenstiel (age 13):  50 Free (2nd), 100 Fly (3rd)

Mindi Veach (age 10):  100 Free (3rd)

Chris Zhang (age 6):  50 Back (3rd)

Ryan Zhang (age 9):  50 Free (2nd), 50 Back (2nd), 50 Breast (2nd), 100 Free (2nd)

The Girls 200 Medley Relay Team of:  Kallyn DeWitt, Lakin Ditter, Megan Flavin and Ana Goodlet – 2nd place

The Hurricanes compete next in the Western Kansas Swim Club Combined Championship Meet in Guymon, Oklahoma.
