Safe stolen after man lured out of his Salina home

SALINA — A Salina man reported a safe with cash and coins was taken from his home Saturday morning when he was asked about his property line.

The man who lives in the 800 block of E. Minneapolis told police that two Hispanic males came to his front door and asked if he knew where the property line was in the backyard.

The man and his wife both went into the backyard with the men to show them the property line. Apparently, while outside, someone came into the home and removed a safe with $250 cash and $300 in coins.

The two men were described as average height and build, wearing white T-shirts, and blue jeans.

Including the value of the safe, the total loss is estimated at $650.
