While analyzing sections of the storm sewer system for a lining project that is underway, Hays city staff determined that one section is beyond repair. Stormwater Superintendent Nick Willis says the section runs under half of the block at 100 East 12th.
The city commission will review bids for the project next week. It is estimated to cost $165,000, which includes adding a hydrant to provide better fire coverage for the block.
