
Kansas State used a 13-1 first half run to take control and defeat the Fort Hays State Tigers 90-60 in an exhibition game at Bramlage Coliseum Sunday.
The Wildcats shot 49-percent in the first half, building a 46-20 lead at the break. The Tigers shot just 25-percent in the first half and were just 1-for-6 from 3-point range in the first half.
FHSU shot 54-percent in the second half and were only outscored by four.
Tyrone Phillips led Fort Hays State with 16 points, all in the second half, going 7-of-11 from the floor hitting his only 3-point attempt. Lance Russell added 12, nine of them in the first half. Markus Yarbrough added 11 points.
Freshman Angel Rodriguez led five Wildcats in double-figures with 15 points. Freshman Thomas Gipson added 14 points.
Fort Hays State closes out exhibitino play Tuesday at the University of Kansas. The game is set to tip at 7:05 pm at Allen Fieldhouse with the Fort Hays Auto Sales Pregame Show at 6:40pm on Tiger Radio Mix-103.
