The USD 489 Board of Education will meet on different day than usual for next week’s work session.

The meeting, scheduled for Thursday, was added to meet annual budget publication and hearing deadlines, according to Elizabeth Jaeger, USD 489 coordinator of public information.

The meeting will include a FY 2015 budget hearing and budget review and the renewal of the federal Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Tracy Kaiser, USD 489 director of finance, will present the budget for review and public comment. The district administration is recommending the school board make a motion to approve the FY15 budget at the Aug. 18 regular meeting.

According to the CACFP website, the food program “provides reimbursement for healthful meals and snacks served to children and adults” and “plays a vital role in improving the quality of daycare and making it more affordable for families.”

The work session is at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Rockwell Administration Building.
