KDOT meeting planned to discuss Kansas 383 project changes

Kansas Department of Transportation

The Kansas Department of Transportation will host a public meeting to discuss the proposed schedule to reconstruct Kansas 383 Highway from the U.S. 36 junction northeast to the U.S. 183 junction.

KDOT

KDOT originally considered a schedule that would have closed the entire segment of road for approximately nine months. However, as information has been gathered regarding local access and the condition of multiple highway drainage structures, it appears to be necessary to construct this project over two construction seasons.

This modified schedule would close the Phillips County portion to traffic during the 2018 construction season and the Norton County portion during the 2019 construction season.

The public meeting is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Almena Community Building, 415 Main, Almena.

Discussion of the project will take place and the public is encouraged to provide feedback and share their concerns.

Questions, concerns or special needs can be addressed by contacting KDOT District Engineer Jeff Stewart at (785) 877-3315 or [email protected].
