FLORENCE, Kan.- Two people were injured in an accident just before 12:30 p.m. on Friday in Marion County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Cadillac driven by Karen Margaret Billett, 57, Council Grove, was southbound on U.S. 77 in Florence.

The vehicle failed to yield and ran into a 2001 Kenworth semi driven by Julie Ann Wells, 49, Neal, in the round about going westbound.

Billett was transported to St Luke’s hospital. A passenger in the Cadillac Stephen B. Thompson, 51, Council Grove, was transported to Wesley Hospital. Wells was not injured.

The KHP reported Billett and Thompson were not wearing seat belts.
