ELLIS — Four people were injured in an accident just before 8 a.m. on Tuesday in Ellis County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a Cadillac de Ville driven by Kasey D. Wagner, 18, Great Bend, was eastbound on Interstate 70 just west of Ellis

The KHP said the driver fell asleep and the vehicle entered the south ditch. The vehicle hit a tree and rolled. It came to rest on its top.

Wagner and three passengers in the vehicle — Taylor Ian Schartz, 18, Ellinwood; James Lynn Aumiller, 18, Newton; and Sterling Rayce Miles, 18, Great Bend — were transported to Hays Medical Center for treatment.

The KHP reported all were properly restrained at the time of the accident.
