SILVER LAKE, Kan.-  Two people were injured in a 5-vehicle accident just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in Shawnee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2009 Kenworth semi driven by Danny R. Hyatt, 48, Holt, was eastbound on U.S. 24 just east of Silver Lake and struck an east bound 2004 Chevy Astro Van driven by Gary A. Bailey, 51, Topeka.

The Chevy went left of center and struck a west bound 2013 Chrysler Van driven by Misty S. Kruger, 30, Silver Lake.

The Chevy then struck a 2007 Chevy pickup driven by James J. Maryott, 56, Silver Lake and a 2011 GMC Acadia driven by Kassi C. Neufeld, 25, Silver Lake.

Hyatt and Bailey were transported to Stormont Vail in Topeka. No other injuries were reported.

The KHP reported Hyatt and Bailey were not wearing seat belts.
