Eagle Community Television honored by peers in annual competition

Eagle Community Television brought home several awards from a multi-state competition in Kansas City.

ECTV swept all of the MIDI Awards in the categories it entered at the annual Mid-America Cable Telecommunications Association Show, the premier educational and networking event for cable providers across the Midwest.

“Eagle TV continues to connect our community with local news and information every day,” said Eagle CEO Gary Shorman, “and being recognized as the best in the Midwest is a nice honor and exemplifies the professionalism of our Eagle Employee-Owners.”

Among this year’s ECTV honorees were:
First place
Jordan Schaeffer: Basketball promo
Jeff Durall: “Pearl Harbor … I was there.”
Andy Stanton, Rhonda Meyerhoff and Merle Fager: Surf X promotion

Second place
Schaeffer: Southwind Crossfit commercial (second place in two categories)

Third place
Brandon Cooley: Xibit Customs commercial

“I’m proud of the creativity and dedication our Employee-Owners put forth every day to showcase our local businesses and our communities,” said Travis Kohlrus, general manager of Eagle’s broadband division. “It’s a icing on the cake when they get such high recognition when compared to their peers in six-state region.”

The award winners competed with entries from seven states including Arkansas, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. Mike Koerner of ECTV accepted the awards on behalf of the staff.
