Hays High Indian Paige Lunsford signed a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Fort Hays State University Tigers on Wednesday in the Hays High cafeteria.
Lunsford a three year starter getting set for her senior season averaged 10.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 asissts, and 3 steals per game in the 2010-2011 season. A two-time first team Western Athletic Conference pick Lunsford started part of her freshmen year and has started 46 of the 57 games she has played in as an Indian, and has scored in double figures in 24 of those games.
Lunsford has scored 546 points through three seasons at Hays High and has been instrumental in helping turnaround a girls program that finished 9-11 last season after a 3-7 start to the season.
Lundsford is also a member of the Indian softball team that went to the 5A state tournament in the spring of 2011.
