Groundbreaking set for Troop F headquarters

KHP patchKECHI, Kan. (AP) — Gov. Sam Brownback will join several other state and law enforcement officials in a groundbreaking ceremony for a new Kansas Highway Patrol headquarters in south-central Kansas.

The ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday in Kechi, at the future home of both the south-central area patrol and Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

KFDI reports the new headquarters will replace the current location in Wichita.

The new building is being paid by asset forfeiture funds.

Troop F works in 13 south-central Kansas counties including Barton, Stafford, Pratt, Barber, Rice, Reno, Kingman, Harper, Harvey, Sumner, Butler, Cowley, and Sedgwick with the Wichita metropolitan area.
