The event will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the “March To Main,” where students can head to the downtown area with the FHSU band, cheerleaders, Tiger Debs and elected officials from the city of Hays. The march will be led by first-year FHSU President Mirta Martin. The first 500 students with a Tiger ID also can participate in a free hog roast. Students can also visit various destinations downtown and collect tickets at each stop for a chance to win a $500 cash prize or a downtown Hays gift bundle.

“We have such a phenomenal university. They work so well with the community and, since enrollment has increased over the years, the economic impact (of the students) is outstanding,” said Janet Kuhn of Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Activities will wrap up downtown at approximately 8 p.m. Core2Campus is organized by the Downtown Hays Development Corp., TGOF committee, Hays Convention and Visitors Bureau and Eagle Communications.

The Hays City Commission work session will begin at 7:30 p.m. due to the event.
