SALINA — An elderly Salina couple report to police that $200 cash was taken from a bedroom of their home Tuesday afternoon, while two men were showing them floor covering.
Capt. Chris Trocheck said two men came to the home of the couple in southeast Salina around 3 p.m., saying they were opening up a new floor covering store, and wanted to show them some linoleum.
Trocheck said it is believed that a third person may have entered the home while the couple was distracted by the two men and went through the house looking for valuables.
The men left the home after about a half hour. The men are described as white males, one between 60 and 70 years-old, “scruffy looking” with white facial hair. The other suspect is described as being in his late teens.
