The Hays Recreation Commission is looking for help — and without it, approximately 300 children won’t have teams for this year’s fall sports leagues.

HRC said Friday it is 32 coaches short for the upcoming season for soccer and flag football leagues.

“‘But I don’t know anything about soccer/flag football.’ Not an excuse,” Keith Smith, HRC’s youth sports director, said in a news release. “We can teach you all you need to know! We can help you set up practices and give you drills and games to play so you are all set for the season!”

Coaches are needed in nearly every age division for girls, boys and co-ed division, ranging from 9- to 12-year-old flag football to 5- to 6-year-old soccer.
