Hot Saturday, slight chance of storms late

FileSkies will be partly cloudy today with a high  near 96 with an overnight low of around 70.

A weak cold front will move into the high plains region later today, this will bring slight chances for afternoon and evening thunderstorms mainly for locations north of Interstate 70.

The heat will continue over north central Kansas, at least through Tuesday. A better chance of thunderstorms is expected Sunday night through Wednesday.

We received .16 of rain at The Eagle Media Center from the storms last night.

Today: A 10 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 5pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 96. Breezy, with a south southwest wind 6 to 11 mph increasing to 17 to 22 mph in the afternoon.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 70. South wind 14 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph.

Sunday: Sunny, with a high near 93. South southwest wind 8 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon.

Sunday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 67. East southeast wind 3 to 8 mph.

Monday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10am, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 95. South southeast wind 8 to 15 mph.
