Mohr named FHSU softball coach

After spending the last two years as an assistant at Emporia State, Adrian Mohr is coming home. The former Tiger standout was introduced as the new head softball coach at Fort Hays State at a Monday afternoon news conference. Mohr takes over for Erin Kinberger, who announced her resignation last week to take the head coaching job at her alma mater St. Leo University in Florida.

Mohr was a pitcher and outfielder for the Tigers from 2007-10 garnering All-MIAA honors. She finished with a career .304 batting average, racking up 197 hits, 44 doubles, 10 triples and 15 home runs. In the circle, Mohr picked up 28 wins with 37 complete games, striking out  199 and tallying two saves in 374.0 innings pitched.FHSU-SB-Mohr Presser2

She spent two years as a graduate assistant at FHSU under both Julie LeMaire and Erin Kinberger before joining LeMaire’s staff at Emporia State. Mohr helped the Hornet team to an 87-34 record and two NCAA II tournament appearances. The 2014 Hornets won the MIAA regular season title.

Mohr was an All-MIAA First Team selection as a senior in 2010 after hitting .360 with 10 home runs, 16 doubles, three triples and 50 runs batted in.

Mohr is a native of Thornton, Colorado and holds two degrees from Fort Hays State, completing her bachelor’s in Recreation and Sports Management (2010) and a master’s in Exercise Science (2012).
