More than a half-inch of rain in gauges after Monday rain

Monday evening brought with it lighting and thunder — and another bit of rain for the region.

Early Ellis County reports show more than a half inch of rain south of Hays, with the most significant gauge reading 0.67 inches just south of town. Another report of 0.58 inches was recorded in Victoria.

Russell County also got a good soak, with a report of 0.57 inches.

Farther south, Stafford County measured more than 2 inches of rain, according to early reports.

Forecasters say more rain is possible Tuesday, with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The chance of rain persists through the week.
