KIRWIN — One man died in a single-vehicle accident just before 6 p.m. on Wednesday in Phillips County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a BMW Z4 convertible driven by Glenn O. Rowell, 70, Edmond, OK., was westbound on Kansas 9 one mile east of Kirwin.

The driver lost control of the vehicle, it entered the north ditch, struck a field entrance and went airborne.

Rowell was transported to Phillips County Hospital where he died.

The KHP reported he was properly restrained at the time of the accident.
