One week ago, the Fort Hays State defense was way ahead of the offense. Thursday they offense closed that gap as the Tigers held their final scrimmage prior to their season opener September 4th against Central Oklahoma.
Coach Chris Brown comments on the Tigers third and final scrimmage
The offense had five turnovers in their second scrimmage but only one on Thursday. Both quarterbacks Treveon Albert and Kevin Spain led scoring drives against the No. 1 defense. After a long run from running back Kenneth Iheme, Albert connected on a 16 yard TD pass to Bilal Salat. Spain hit Garrett Holle on an 11-yard strike against the No. 2 defense. He later found tight end Marshall Musil on a four-yard strike against the No. 1 defense.
Spain did throw the only interception which resulted in a touchdown for Daniel Lindsey.
