Cloudy, chance of Showers

As an upper level trough approaches western Kansas today, thunderstorm chances will remain fairly high. Expect renewed thunderstorm development by mid to Screen Shot 2014-08-28 at 7.22.30 AMlate afternoon just about anywhere across the southwest Kansas region. By early Friday morning, the highest precipitation amounts will likely be across portions of south-central Kansas, where around three-quarters of an inch is quite possible (locally higher amounts).

Today A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 85. South southwest wind 5 to 9 mph.
Tonight Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly before 4am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. Light and variable wind becoming south southwest around 6 mph in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 85. West northwest wind around 7 mph becoming north northeast in the afternoon.
Friday Night A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 4am. Partly cloudy, with a low around 61. East northeast wind 5 to 8 mph becoming light and variable after midnight.
Saturday Sunny, with a high near 88. Light and variable wind becoming east southeast around 6 mph in the afternoon.
Saturday Night Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.
Sunday Mostly sunny, with a high near 94.
