September has brought nearly an inch of rain to Hays already, with approximately a half-inch falling on town from Friday’s front.
The front also brought a dramatic cool-down, with Thursday’s high of 102 degrees dipping down to a projected high in the mid-60s Friday.
Early reports Friday in Ellis County were mostly in quarter to a third of an inch rain, although there was a report of 0.80 inches north of Hays.
Trego County also received a significant rainfall, with reports ranging from 0.34 inches to 0.78 inches.
Rain could continue into the evening, with the next chance of thunderstorms arriving Sunday evening.
