The National Weather Service is warning of a threat of significant thunderstorms throughout northwest Kansas.
The Dodge City office of the NWS said storms could develop Monday evening and into the night. Small hail and gusting winds are the primary threat in Ellis, Trego and Ness counties.
Farther west, the storms could prove more severe. The Goodland NWS office is calling for the possibility of up to quarter-size hail in areas northwest of Ellis County.
The threat of storms will continue intermittently through Sunday, the NWS said.
