KFIX Rock News: Alice Cooper To Release “Raise The Dead” DVD Next Month

Just in time for Halloween, Alice Cooper’s 2013 appearance at the the Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany, is ready to be unleashed.

Raise the Dead — Live from Wacken is set for an Oct. 21 release on CD and DVD by UDR-Home of Legends.

The full concert features 22 songs, including covers of “Break on Through” by The Doors, “My Generation” by The Who, and “Another Brick in the Wall” by Pink Floyd.

The CD/DVD also includes an interview with Cooper, who describes his show as being akin to a Broadway show divided into three acts: Alice Glam, Alice Dark, and Raise the Dead.

“If you are going to say ‘Welcome to My Nightmare,’ give them the nightmare,” he says to the camera. “Don’t just say it. Give it to them.”

A portion of the proceeds from sales of Raise the Dead — Live from Wacken will benefit the Wacken Foundation, which supports the growth of new rock and heavy metal bands.

The Wacken Foundation plans to release more performances from the festival.
