Tonight’s Sub-State Championship game matches a pair of familiar foes; the Plainville Cardinals and the LaCrosse Leopards. LaCrosse defeated Plainville in the final week of the regular season 14-8, giving LaCrosse the district crown.

The Leopards went on to defeat Moundridge in the first round at home and then went on the road last week and used a strong second half to down the defending state champions the Meade Buffaloes, 21-12 and they are a perfect 11-0 heading into this week.

The Plainville Cardinals bounced back after the loss to LaCrosse and won on the road at Salina Sacred Heart and then last week their defense put the clamps on the Stanton Country Trojan offense and downed them 6-0 in Johnson City. So they return home, this week, for their first playoff game with a 10-1 record.

The winner of tonight’s game will play the winner of the Pitt-Colgan vs. Centralia game next Saturday in Hays at Lewis Field Stadium.

Kickoff from Plainville is set for 7pm with out pre-game show beginning at 6:30 on The Country Bull Y102.
