The school resulting in the combination of Kennedy and Felten will be named Hays Middle School. Superintendent Will Roth says the recommendation came from surveys that were completed by parents and students. It was also recommended to reduce expenses by keeping the Falcon mascot and the black and gold colors.

The board approved the recommendation Monday night.
