WICHITA- Five people were injured in an accident just after 9:30 a.m. on Friday in Sedgwick County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2008 Kia SUV driven by Tracee R. Tipton, 48, Lincoln, was northbound on Interstate 235 at the Kansas 96 Junction.

The driver reached down to grab something. When the driver looked up she realized the vehicle was drifting across the median.

The Kia struck a 2014 Ford SUV head on. Both vehicles rolled.

Tipton, the driver of the Ford James Wayne Demastes, 53, and passengers in the Ford Theresa Ann Spradling, 48, and two children all of Waterloo, IA., were transported to St. Francis Medical Center.

The KHP reported all were properly restrained at the time of the collision.
